Monday: Matter and Energy

Today students set up their science notebooks and learned the basics of matter and energy.

Students also reviewed the technology guidelines during this period in advance of receiving laptops tomorrow.

Friday: Scientist Walk

Today’s Targets:

• I can collected information from a text and use it to support my opinion
• Responsibility HOWL: I use my time well and prioritize the learning activity

In class today students will be learning about 8 scientists and working with their tables to decide which scientists were the most “important.”

ASSIGNMENT:

• Bring a notebook (preferably quad ruled) to stay in the classroom beginning Monday

Wednesday & Thursday: Tower Building

Today students will have their first 8th grade science class.  Students will receive an overview of the content for the year and work together as a team to design and build a tower out of paper and then on Thursday a new tower using just popsicle sticks, straws and tape.
