Friday: Baking Soda and Vinegar Lab

Today students will be conducting a lab focused on this question:

When you mix baking soda and vinegar together what type of change occurs?

Students will gather data and observations and complete a Claim, Evidence, Reasoning Statement in Google Classroom.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Physical and Chemical Changes

Over two days students will be learning about physical and chemical changes in matter. Ms Lea will combine some household items such as baking soda and vinegar and cranberry juice and ammonia to demonstrate the physical and chemical properties of these substances. Tuesday – Friday: Introduction to Properties of Matter

This week in science students are learning about the physical properties of matter.  These include things like you can observe with your senses: color, shape, smell, feel and so on.  We will have a series of activities throughout the week investigating various physical properties.  Students missing a class should come see me in order to review the activities from class.

  • Retakes of last week’s Mass, Volume and Density quiz are available during any SLT this week.
  • Students should check Infinite Campus and make a plan to turn in any missing work or revise past assignments by the end of the week.
